Hey everybody. Saul Marquez with the Outcomes Rocket and I want to welcome you back to this week’s summary. We’ve had so many great guests again and I want to tell you all about those incredible episodes. I’ll give you a quick summary here so you could go back if any of them sound interesting to you. We’ve linked them all up in the show notes for you to check out.

Saul Marquez:
We started this week on our main show where I interviewed Jennifer Goldsack and Ryan Vega, Dr. Vega, and discuss the current state of digital innovation in our field. DiMe is the Digital Innovation Foundation that Jennifer Goldsack leads and also the VA. They started a partnership in which the main goal is to bring together digital solutions, ideas, and innovation for better healthcare outcomes. They offered up some of the ways that the Veterans Hospital is doing huge impacts with what they’re working on innovation, using the long game, and how Jennifer’s organization, DiMe, is partnering with them to make big things happen. You’ll want to check that out because it’s a pretty interesting podcast.

Saul Marquez:
On Marketing Mondays, we had Jennifer Forster, VP of Payer and Market Strategy at SimplyFed, a lactation company that provides baby feeding support to parents from the comfort and safety of their own home through telehealth. And she talked about marketing, education, the challenges around breastfeeding support services. It’s just phenomenal to see how companies in healthcare are using marketing to get to the right people, the right stakeholders to get their solutions into the hands, in the minds of people that matter most the consumer. Be sure to listen to that one on Marketing Mondays, again, the link is in the show notes.

Saul Marquez:
On Wednesday, we had Sempre Health podcast, Rich Prest He spoke with Eric Buffkin, CEO and president of etectRx, about the journey of pursuing a startup in health tech. He discussed etectRx and how they’re ingestible sensors for tracking medication adherence are used in clinical research or also care, and he shares insights on digital trends and developments. Listen to that one, because the innovations and also the talk around startups is super interesting if you’re considering a startup health career.

Saul Marquez:
On the Future of Global Informatics, the amazing TJ Sothern talk with Tatyana Kanzaveli, she’s the founder and CEO of Open Health Network, about her work to build a data-driven care framework in order to tailor preventative treatments for every single patient. She discussed challenges like funding for this technology and explained why her work could be used as the basis for digital twinning, which she believes to be a future step in health care. Kind of a cool episode, a digital twinning if you don’t know about it, it’s a pretty interesting topic, you’ll want to plug into the. Future of Global Informatics.

Saul Marquez:
On the Insights Out podcast, Natanya Wachtel sat down with Richard Schwartz, Life Sciences, Medical Device and Digital Health Practice Lead at Medallia, about the value of customer insights in life sciences. He argued companies and organizations that are making decisions with insights into customer needs, sentiments and emotions will see effects on their financial profit, employee experience, and research outcomes. You want to learn more about that on the link below in the show Notes.

Saul Marquez:
On Thursday in the Outcomes Record podcast, I had Errol Weiss on the podcast. He’s the chief Security Officer at Health-ISAC. This was one of the interviews that we did that was part of the October Cybersecurity series that were partnered with the Health Sector Coordinating Council, just fantastic work. If you haven’t had a chance to listen to this one or others, it is fascinating and also scary what’s happening in healthcare with cyber threats. An average of 7 million dollars for healthcare ransomware, it could shut the whole hospital down, patients don’t get cared for, people are dying as a result of this. And he talks about what we could do as healthcare leaders and organizations to stop cyber criminals from doing what they do. Your jaw is going to drop with some of the examples that he uses. You’re not going to want to miss that. Huge thanks to Errol for participating in that. And again, the link is down below in the show notes.

Saul Marquez:
And finally on our episode of Everyone Hates Healthcare Podcast hosted by Michael Swartz. Listen, the Everyone Hates Healthcare podcast is pretty cool. If you go to Twitter, for example, and you type in Everyone Hates Healthcare, or if you type in I hate health care, it’s crazy how many posts actually show up. It’s what happens when the system’s not designed in such a way to be friendly to the consumer and, you know, the efforts that are happening, the players getting involved. I mean, heck, I didn’t even know. But like, did you guys know that Best Buy has a health arm? That was a surprise to me. Health, Best Buy Health. They bought a wearable company if you, actually last year for 400 million, they’ve got efforts in, in the emergency space and also technology space. I mean, just like how many players are getting involved in health care right now. And, and the reason is there’s a need for that consumer touch. And, well, anyway, on this episode of Everyone Hates Healthcare, Michael hosted Allyn Rose, who made headlines with the controversial decision to undergo a double mastectomy after losing her mother to breast cancer. After the procedure, she realized there was nowhere on the Internet with information and resources on the matter. So she created a non-profit platform called The Previvor. She shared her journey and discussed other measures to prevent breast cancer in this inspiring episode, you’re going to want to listen to that. It’s all about empowering the consumer in healthcare. That’s what Everyone Hates Healthcare is about, and that’s why I love it. So you’re going to want to check out that episode, too.

Saul Marquez:
